The original website was visually outdated and did not match the thematic appearance of other UC San Diego sites. A navy blue and gold color scheme was used on the redesigned website to more accurately reflect HEDP’s academic affiliations.
The client wanted a large “research” section, in order to feature the lab’s extensive collection of research papers and projects. This section was especially important because of the potential draw for future funding sources.
A news section highlights press releases featuring the lab’s current and past members. The resource page serves as a platform to recruit new researchers to the lab and to provide students with links to relevant energy-research organizations.
The High Energy Density Physics (HEDP) Group is a research laboratory at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). They conduct research on inertial confinement fusion (ICF), fast ignition, laser matter interactions, wire array z-pinches, x-pinches and neutron sources.
